Hi guysss! So I have 4 foundations to review today: NARS Sheer Matte Foundation, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser, Diorskin Forever Foundation and Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation.
My skin type is combination, where my T-zone is prone to get oily, so choosing the right foundation is important as it has to match your skin. I also advise you to use a face primer first before applying any make up as the primer preps the face and creates a smooth canvas to work on. Having recently been on holiday I have a slight tan so some of the foundations is too light on my skin (you will see yourself!)
First up is NARS Sheer Matte Foundation in FIJI 'light 5' - Light with yellow undertone. |
I like NARS foundation's consistency and when poured out onto my hand it just settles like a blob. (Really sunburnt hand) |
It looks so light on my face but that's because it's not in the right colour! So the NARS sheer matte gives full coverage but has a drying effect so this foundation may be better suited for people who is of oily skin type. At £31 for 30ml I personally wouldn't go for it again as it does not suit my skin but I won't take away the fact that NARS do a perfect 'matte' foundation and other matte products. |
This is Laura Mercier's tinted moisturiser with SPF 20 in the shade 'NUDE.' |
So I really like the finish with the tinted moisturiser as it is a light-weight formula and gives a natural look. As it is not an actual foundation I can keep applying more layers of the moisturiser yet it will still feel light and clean on the skin. At £34 for 50ml I think it is a good investment for a summer product that can be worn in replacement for your foundation when the weather is hot. One small problem with the moisturiser is that the coverage is light so it will not hide any blemishes or spots so you will need to use extra concealer! |
This is Estée Lauder double wear foundation in 'PURE BEIGE' SPF 10. |
So it comes out really runny on the hand so be careful when pouring the product out! |
Estée Lauder double wear stays true it's words and gives a thick coverage 'double wear' and 'stays in place' throughout the day. From the photo you can gather the idea that the foundation gives an airbrushed look and can appear quite cakey with more than one layer - so apply it to your own preference. At £28.50 for 30ml it is the cheapest one out of the 4 products and is a decent priced foundation considering other upper market products. However I wouldn't buy this product again as I don't personally like the thick consistency upon application and this foundation is also the worst smelling out of the foundations (some say it smells like paint). |
Lastly, Diorskin Forever foundation in SAND 031 SPF 25. |
This is my favourite foundation by far and will keep buying this product until I find better! Diorskin forever promises 'flawless perfection' and I completely agree. It gives a medium coverage and a semi-matte look which is ideal for my combination skin because I have the problem of oiliness and dryness. It is £32 for a 30ml and have I mentioned that it smells like pretty perfume on the face. Amazing! It comes with a pump for easy application straight on the face or on your hand, plus it keeps things clean. I have nothing bad to say about this product - it's my holy grail foundation. I recommend to every one! |
